So far in 2017 we have run three part time Foundation in Make-up courses specialising in Bridal Make-up.
Two of our students already had successful bridal hair styling businesses and wanted to add to their skill set so that they can now offer bridal hair and make-up. Another student is looking for a change of career and wanted to specialise in bridal make-up.
This course is offered as a 5 day Monday to Friday intensive make-up course which is the route that Sasha decided to take. It is also run as an 8 week evening course, 3-6pm every Wednesday which is the course Nicola took. We built a course for Sophie to fit in around the days and times that she could attend and our availability.
All of our courses are hands on from the start. We teach all the basic skills that you need to know including undertones, warm and cool colours, different application techniques for face shapes, eye shapes, lip shapes, hygiene, product longevity and different styles of full face make-up. It is great to see our students grow in confidence and learn as they go along. Towards the end of each course, models are provided for the students to create a finished make-up look on.
As well as application techniques, we will always discuss business ideas and how to get ahead and advertise your business based on our own experiences. We have spent 22 years working out what does and doesn’t work in business and are more than happy to share these experiences with our students.
On completion of our foundation in bridal make-up course, we offer our students shadow work where they can come along to a bridal trial and on the day to see what is expected of them in their role as a bridal make-up artist. We also have connections with a lot of local make-up artists who have their own wedding businesses. This provides lots of networking opportunities as well as work placements to assist on actual wedding days.
We wish all of our students all the best in their chosen career and are always here to offer advice, help and guidance. Looking forward to what you all achieve.
