Hi, I’m Amy
I’ve always had an interest in hair and make-up as my parents worked in Theatre, TV and Film making and distressing costumes. I loved my upbringing and spent quite a lot of time up the West End watching Musicals, Ballet and Opera.
At 17 I started my career, having already carried out work experience at Glyndebourne Opera House, I starting working in a photographic company making over up to 14 clients a day to have their photos taken.
At 20 I worked in retail. Mostly for Shiseido, Molton Brown, Pout & Charles Fox.
I also worked on Films including Harry Potter and Captain Correli’s Mandolin.
I married at 22 and had my first son aged 24 and at 25 we decided to move out of London and down to Sussex.
Life was very different working as a freelance hair and makeup artist with a young child so I set up my Bridal Business, ‘Makeup by Amy’ and was soon busy getting brides ready for their special day all over Sussex whilst my husband worked from home in travel.
At 26 my second son was born and alongside my wedding business, I started teaching Salsa and Zumba, started my beauty business offering manicures and eyebrow shaping and quite frankly did anything and everything I could to make sure I could work on my terms, doing what I loved whilst fitting around my family life.
