April 2019, past student’s Sara Havard, Natalie Paydar & Suzannah Wilson joined the team to create the hair and makeup for Lewes Operatic Society production of My Fair Lady under designer Sophie Scott’s watchful eye.


February 2019 Principal Amy Prifti attended Professional Beauty and took fellow student’s along with her where they attended seminars, was introduced to new products and network with industry professionals.


Sussex Make-up Academy organised a professional photoshoot for its past students in Brighton. Each student created several looks on experienced models, photographed in a professional studio.


Sussex Make-up Academy took past and present students to a Masterclass at Bobbi Brown Brighton. The subject was make-up for deeper, darker skin types.


Two of our past students, Nicola Johnson & Martine Turner, were in charge of Make-up and Hair for Isaac Raymond’s photoshoot, published in Style Reins Magazine. They created several looks on two models, Emily Bunclark & Rebecca May Bolton.

Seeing as we had quite a few students starting up their own bridal hair and make-up businesses, we decided that the best way we could support them was to organise a bridal photoshoot so that all students worked and achieved professional photos that they could use on their websites and any advertising materials.


Photographer David Long approached us asking if we could put forward a hair and make-up artist for an upcoming shoot he had in Worthing for swimwear designer Antoninias. Having already worked with Worthing based hair and make-up artist Gemma Fletcher, we felt she was the perfect fit for this work placement.


On the 26th November 2016 the Sussex Make-up Academy took along students and make-up artists wanting experience in catwalk work along to support Front Row South East Wearable art Fashion Show.


After her Fashion and Editorial Course, Carolina Alvaro attended a photoshoot with Principal Amy Prifti. She created three unique looks on Model Alice James which ended up being published in Femme Rebelle Magazine. After, we invited Carolina along to be one of the key make-up artists for a fashion show that we sponsored.


We took Stacie Smith along to our latest photo shoot, creating high fashion and editorial photos with a top team including Photographer Martin Higgs. Amy carried out all of the make-up looks whilst Stacie was the hair stylist for this shoot under Amy’s guidance.


Zoe Foster assisted us on a photo shoot at prestigious Buster and Punch for young designer Isaac Raymond. Four unique looks were created for Isaac’s new clothing range.


Olivia Cutforth was put forward by us to work with designer, “The Head Bloomer”, on a photo shoot by Exposure Studios London. She had the opportunity to create close-up make-up looks for three models.


Make-up Artist, Zoe Foster, assisted us to create a promotional video for the Newhaven Fort Zombie Run, which was help during July 2016. Five zombies were created for this video.


Make-up Artist’s Stacie Smith, Katie Johnson and Holly all gained work experience with Amy working on catwalks, shadowing weddings and photoshoots.


Last April Sussex Make-up Academy had the honour to welcome Anna Lingis, a famous body painter. She helped our students to create this beautiful full body painting of Wonder Woman.


Sussex Make-up Academy was lucky enough to be invited back to work for Eurosport for the Eastbourne Tennis Week. During the first year Olivia Cutforth was taken with SMA as a work placement, and last year Amy brought past student Suzanne Walker with her.


A Zombie Run was organised in Newhaven during July 2016, and Principal Amy Prifti and five students from Sussex Make-up Academy were there to transform 40 people into scary zombies.


In June 2016 the Sussex Make-up Academy was sponsoring Isaac Raymond’s first ever London Catwalk. During this young Sussex based designer’s show, all our students were invited to come and work on this beautiful project.
